July 16, 2010 Amethyst Wyldfyre returns as a guest to talk about what has shifted for her since her last radio meeting with Michael on June 17th. Amethyst is known as the Energy Mastery Coach for Evolving Entrepreneurs. 8 years ago she was a successful real estate developer, Community Consultant and National Chairperson for her Association. A personal awakening inspired her to leave so one day she walked into the office and told her partner that she was done and going to be a Crystal Healer. She made a quantum leap into a whole new life & she’s done the journey. In her practice, Amethyst merges the spiritual and the practical in a way that allows the manifestation of a person’s higher energies, visions, levels of consciousness and awareness to be very practically grounded, embodied and manifested in the physical world. She works with evolving entrepreneurs, assisting them to clear obstacles and recover energy so that they can really leap into their higher level of service as leaders and influencers of change on the planet. Amethyst works with entrepreneurs who have awakened to their deep soul purpose in this life, and have discovered that it does not necessarily line up with the typical corporate job in America. So, as they discover their purpose, they are also being called into entrepreneurship because many times that is the only way to deliver on that soul mission. July 15, 2010 Michael E. Gerber takes calls at (917) 932-8051. July 09, 2010 Michael interviews Uddhav Giri who owns a Chevron station in Citrus Heights, CA, near Sacramento. Uddhal is originally from Nepal, and has been in business for ten years. Uddhav’s single, biggest problem in business at this time is getting financing for expansion. Last year they applied for a bank loan to knock down the auto repair part of their business, expand the convenience store, put in a carwash and smog bay and do the landscaping. At the last minute, the bank only agreed to give them the money to expand the convenience store. The bank said that after Uddahv finishes contruction, opens the store for business and show profit, only then will they will lend Uddahl the balance in Janurary 2010. Uddahv completed construction and showed a profit, but then the bank said that they don’t loan to gas stations anymore. Without the completion of the landscaping, the city will not replace Uddahv’s temporary permit to operate with a permanent one. Uddahv needs only $350,000 to complete everything, but banks do not want to loan to gas stations. His business is at the maximum allowable $250,000 through SBA. The problem is that he needs to complete the project to continue making his property and initial contruction payments. July 08, 2010 Michael E. Gerber takes calls at (917) 932-8051. July 07, 2010 Michael interviews Susan Young who has a dream to enlighten millions of men and women on what makes them unique and to follow their passion and focus on their strengths. She developed a system for teaching this information that will prepare you for college, help you select a career & find the right partner for you. One of her greatest strengths is her natural ability to listen and motivate people to see things in themselves that they may not recognize. Because of this, people trust her and love to share their stories and are comfortable telling her things they never tell anyone else. The biggest single problem her business faces is how to stop doing it, doing it, doing it, and to work ON her business and not IN it. Michael helps Susan clarify her business “end game”. Michael also interviews Char Brooks who has a passion for helping patients and their healthcare providers speak the same language. She says that if you can’t explain clearly what is going on within you, no one can help you. But the problem is that we don’t step into that role when we don’t feel good. To meet this need, Char created an eBook, which is really a piece of software, that can provide all the information your healthcare providers need when you aren’t well. The name of the eBook is “Patient Power: Get the HealthCare You Deserve”, and is a series of worksheet templates that can be used again and again for different needs. Her web site is www.the-first-step.com. Char says her market is people with pains and ailments that they’re pushing out of their mind because it’s too diff to deal with. July 06, 2010 Michael interviews Lynn from Connecticut, who is writing a book about a tragedy she had 15 months ago. Her husband was missing for 5 days. Previous to that, he was put on a medication that put him into a psychotic state. He wandered for four days, and police didn’t see any reason to look for him because they live in a small town. He was found dead on the 5th day. He was found hanging from a rope. Her husband was 46 years old, and had gone to a doctor for Acid Reflux, for which he was prescribed a medicine. However, the doctor prescribed a drug which the FDA had put a black label on, but they didn’t know about it. She is writing this book in the hopes that no one else has to go through what she and their two children are going through. She lost a husband, but her children lost a wonderful dad. She hopes that her book will somehow help pharmaceutical companies and doctors become more responsible when they prescribe medications. Lynn asks Michael if she going in the right direction? Is it such an off the wall thing to take a tragedy in your life, make a positive out of it, and reach out to other people? She doesn’t want to bash pharna. Her family had a wonderful life together, but now she realizes how fast life can change. So, she is thinking about using the book to speak about the tragedy, and possibly start an organization to help others going through this. How would she do that? July 05, 2010 Michael E. Michael skillfully helps Dr. Shane see the tremendous opportunity awaiting him to duplicate his practice to 10,000 clinics treating the 3% of the U.S. population who are Entrepreneurs who have ADHD, or 9 million potential patients. June 24, 2010 Michael interviews Lynne Lambert, owner of Prak Productions, which sells clothing stamped with New York City street signs. She is in the apparel business, but prior to that she was very successful as an actor for 25 years. However, as she became older she saw opportunities for her and her peers decreasing. Then, one day in 1995 she came up with an idea that changed her life. She was standing waiting in a New York subway for a train. She noticed herself gazing up at the sign just ahead of her and began to notice that it had symmetry and actually artistic appeal. She noticed other similar signs, and then her artistic nature woke up. She asked herself that if these signs are so appealing, why hasn’t anyone printed these icons onto clothing? Nobody ever connected the dots. Luckily, her neighbor was an intellectual property rights attorney who suggested she get the property rights to print the icons. In short, that’s what she did. She went to the New York Transit Authority and they accepted her proposal. Today, the New York Metro royalty she pays goes to fund the New York Transit Museums. Lynne’s apparel lines carry all the icons of New York – letters, numbers, maps. She is also on the board of AFTRA. Lynne’s biggest business problem is that she really wants to grow her distribution because they have been a mixed line, and she is trying to figure out the best way to do that. Her options include expanding to other cities. New York City is not enough, so they’ve done London, and hope to do D.C. Lynne’s artistic enthusiasm for life and her passion for her business are contagious and her voice is magnetic. You’ll definitely want to listen to this interview. June 23, 2010 Michael E. June 17, 2010 Amethyst Wyldfyre is known as the Energy Mastery Coach for Evolving Entrepreneurs. So, as they discover their purpose, they are also being called into entrepreneurship because many times that is the only way to deliver on that soul mission. June 16, 2010 Tangela Walker-Craft is the owner of Simply Necessary, which manufactures the GoPillow!. Moms say it’s the best multipurpose baby product any mother or caregiver could ever have, and is esp. useful for breastfeeding moms. Tangela says the GoPillow! can be used from birth and beyond breast feeding w/ built-in privacy cover-up pillow and body wrap for babies, a portable toddler pillow and blanket, a portable diaper changing surface, a sun and wind shield for babies and toddlers, an arm cushion for carrying babies and toddlers, an arm warmer during cold weather, and a travel pillow for all ages. Her biggest problem is gaining product recognition. When people see the product they love it. They’ve had orders from Sweden, Germany, Australia and the Philippines, but because the orders are for only one, the customs cost makes the price too high. So, they hope to find national dealers in other countries. But even in the U.S. postage can make the cost too high. So they need to get a national retailer to pick them up. June 15, 2010 Michael interviews Patrick Sweeney, owner of Odin Technologies, a profitable & fast growing RFID company in a very hot sector, of which his company is the leader. They have a very unique software platform that is a great foundation for applications. They also have the chance to acquire a competitor which got purchased by a large conglomerate three years ago. That conglomerate just went bankrupt so there is a great arbitrage opportunity to buy the company for $ .15 on the dollar. The problem is in financing the acquisition. Private Equity groups will want a large chunk of his company, and debt lenders will want outrageous covenants. The acquisition opportunity has a poor software strategy and would be a great opportunity to cross sell. They need $20million for the acquisition. Michael guides Patrick step-by-step to be PRO-active in the process, rather than simply being RE-active. Michael also interviews John Shegarian, owner of Electronic Recyclers International, Fresno, CA. John began years ago with a successful financial firm in San Diego, from which he transitioned into electronic recycling, which he says is an incredible growth market. His ocmpany is the world leader in GREEN recycling, moving over 170 Million Pounds of waste annually. However, a big problem he faces is educating the public about how to get their cell phones, PCs, blackberries, tvs to his recycling plant and why to do it. John is enthusiastic about his market, and Michael helps him think through the problems and break them down to managable options. June 14, 2010 Michael E. Gerber takes calls at (917) 932-8051. June 11, 2010 Michael interviews Kathie Nelson, owner of KathieNelson.com, a management consulting practice. Her vision is to influence the ideology of how entrepreneurs and small businesses “do” business. She believes that clients working from ther strengths, learning how to monetizing their talents and gifts, and learning how to serve others is the path that will unleash their potential and income. But it’s refining the business model for delivering that message with the highest impact that has her stuck. Her original vision still has the potential to excite her but her business model has become cumbersome and labor intensive. She is a home-grown or bootstrap entrepreneur which she says might be what keeps her operating at this level. So, her biggest problem right now is to how to find a vision that excites her and, secondly, how to develop a business model that supports that vision easily. Michael also interviews Jillian White, owner of White Picket Fence Appraisals. She started doing real estate appraisals 5 years ago, before the sub-prime meltdown. Previous to 2009, she would physically go into houses and do appraisals for mortgage, financing, home equity line needs, really anything having to do with mortgage funding. When the financial meltdown occurred in 2009, orders for her services significantly decreased. A lot of businesses like hers closed up shop. However, Jillian realized that in order to stay in business, she needed to adapt to the new market conditions quickly. Today, she does “Collateral Evaluations”. This is done entirely on the Internet. She has a team of appraisers who work from their home offices. While almost all of the people she worked with and was trained by, and with whom she socialized with went out of business, her business increased 130%. Jillian says that the biggest problem she is having in her business right now is how to deal with the guilt of being so successful. June 10, 2010 Michael interviews Nellie Akalp, owner of CorpNet. Nellie is an attorney as is her husband, and together they went into business in 1997 by purchasing a domain name and putting up just one web page. Within two days of being online they were making money in four digits. In 2005 she sold the company to Intuit and she retired. She has an OPS background and her husband has a strong technical background. After completion of a three year non-compete agreement with Intuit, she started another business, CorpNet. Her company is an incorporation document filing service. Nellie is passionate about simplifying the incorporation process for her clients. She explains that most business people are not aware that they don’t need an attorney to file. What they really need is a knowledgable and reliable document filing service. Using her system, she states, entrepreneurs can end up saving thousands of dollars. Nellie reminds our listeners that growing a business is a huge, huge, huge commitment to watching every dollar. She recommends really engaging with your clientele. “It’s not about needing a huge marketing budget and thinking that you’ll bring in lots of business with lots of advertising”, she says. “Focus on the client, giving best possible service to clients.” June 09, 2010 Michael reports on his speaking tour in Calgary and Vancouver. Michael also interviews Lisa Furtado, a Canadian citizen living in Taiwan, who produces wedding dresses faster and of less cost than anyone else. Her problem: How does she increase sales overseas. Michael helps her find a unique solution and she is excited about her new approach. June 08, 2010 Michael E. Gerber takes calls at (917) 932-8051. June 07, 2010 Michael E. April 15, 2010 Michael interviews Troy Balliet, who says that his really big problem right now is with his wife’s company. Amorology LLC is a wedding planning and consulting company in San Diego that his wife founded and runs. She has one full time employee, a book keeper, and two interns. She is amazingly talented. She has created an excellent name and reputation in the wedding industry. Together, they have implemented some systems that made the work flow a little easier. The problem and challenge they have is how to create duplicatable, automated systems for a business that provides a custom, personal, and creative(artistic) service provided by a uniquely talented person. April 14, 2010 Michael interviews Richard Provencio, of Masters of Retirement, Masters of Retirement, Inc. is a privately held boutique consulting firm delivering a powerful and comprehensive approach to retirement planning. Solutions in lieu of products-driven, the company offers consulting, administration and case management that integrates estate planning, asset protection and risk management techniques, retirement planning, wealth preservation, financial management, tax mitigation, cash flow and income planning services. Richard asks, “How does a small business get maximum exposure in launching a new product? And what are Michael thoughts on using sms messaging and how should they be worded…i.e., a call to action, information only, thanks for the tip etc etc.? The product is non-traditional and does not follow the main stream of conventional financial instruments because there is no government intervention and full empowerment to the individual. April 13, 2010 Michael shares rare original notes from his book Awakening the Enterepreneur Within not released to the public. He explains why he created Who Is Manny Espinoza?, a recruiting firm specializing in giving Hispanic youth opportunities to go into business they never had before. Michael interviews Bill Pittman, owner of Carole’s Southern Charm in Dawsonville, GA. Bill says that his biggest problem is that 2008 and 2009 sales were slow because of the recession. So the store was “living off the inventory”. Sales are picking up but now they’re having trouble getting a loan to buy new inventory. They are supposed to be able to get Government loans, but that is a joke. There is so much bureaucracy that Bill can’t get a loan through to get more inventory on the shelves. So basically they are looking for help with getting a business loan for inventory. They have been in business for over 6 years. April 12, 2010 Michael interviews Kelly Bagla, Atty. She states, “The biggest problem, as a business attorney, I seem to encounter is marketing for my profession. I have noticed that when one is looking for a business attorney, one does not go to the yellow pages. I currently market myself through networking events and receive clients through referrals. However, I would like to know a more productive way to achieve client growth. If time permits and if we can combine another big problem that I face as a business owner, I would like to discuss why small businesses do not feel they need an attorney until they get sued? Better still, how can I reach out to the small business owners and tell them that I am not only a luxury but a necessity! April 09, 2010 Michael takes your calls at 917-932-8051. April 08, 2010 Michael interviews Bryan Mehr, of M2 Displays, a printing company. The firm’s goal is to help businesses better understand their evolving consumers – both customers and prospects – in an ever-changing marketing landscape to improve marketing strategy and grow revenue. Dennis states that his biggest problem is what else he can do early in his business’ existence to establish a consistent, sustainable foundation of revenues from which to grow.
